PinkLemonade Handmade YarnIt’s no secret I’m a big handmade fanatic. You’ll find me at shows talking to people about their crafts and giving high fives to those who have embraced knitting and crocheting as a hobby.

I taught myself to knit only to find out, ironically enough, AFTER naming the business, I was twisting all my purls.  But, that didn’t hinder my wish or ability to create. It’s in my blood!

It’s a a thoughtful way of letting the person know how much you truly care by pouring so much time into a one of a kind piece!

  2. Merry says:

I love homemade for its uniqueness. A lovely handmade scarf is so special because there’s nothing exactly like it!

  3. Jany says:

I love to make handmade items. I use to do handmade goods as a gift for friends, it’s good for to have less stress and more fun. Be happy

  4. Ann Walt says:

Handmade items are made with love and usually are higher quality than store bought items. I love the sweater our neighbor knitted for my mother, when I was a child – so many different stitches and soooo warm! I would love to learn. 🙂

  5. Nancy J. Elliott says:

I love making handmade items for gifts. Those that I give handmade gifts to are always so happy with the gifts. They know that if I took the time to make something for them, that they are very special to me.

  6. Wendy R. says:

Handmade is wonderful because so much love goes into the item. It’s also so important to pass down these skills to our kids because so many are becoming a lost art. Things like tatting are seldom done anymore and it is just so gorgeous.

  7. Carla S says:

Handmade is the best because it is fun to make things, the designs are unique, and handmade stuff is higher quality.

  8. debra bell says:

Handmade is knowing that someone put their thoughts and best wishes into every stitch in the item made, it will be cherished.

  9. Laurie says:

Because they are one-of-a-kind, handmade things are made with a lot of thought, talent and even love, and that makes it so much more special than production stuff. When you wear it, you feel a special connection to the one who made it. When you meet or talk to the artisan, you may get an interesting story that you will think of every time you wear the piece. Nobody will have something quite like your piece.
And, it supports artists, who usually need the help.

Love your yarn Cyndi! And this would be a great time for me to learn to knit- stuck in the boonies in the cold…

  10. Shana says:

I crochet. I’ve tried to learn to knit, but I never caught on and I’d really love to learn. Or, if I won, my cousin’s daughter wants to learn also.
I always make something homemade for Christmas gifts. This year I made scarves for all the females as stocking stuffer’s.

  11. Brenda Hubler says:

Handmade gifts are better because they show how much you care for the person. You set aside time,to make something unique & special just for them. When the label says “Made with love by Mom, Nana, etc” it speaks the truth!

  12. Jan Brosky says:

My grandmother taught me how to knit 50+ years ago when I was 8-10 years old! I still remember her telling me that handmade items are like best friends…they last forever. She would also tell me that knitting is a gift from the heart; “handmade items are made with love”. Now that I have 2 granddaughters of my own, ages 7 & 12, I want to pass this tradition of knitting handmade items along to them! Pick me!! Pick me!!
